Die Mullah-Stachelmaus (Acomys mullah) lebt in tropischem oder subtropischem Buschland und Felsgebieten Äthiopiens und Somalias. Die genauen Grenzen ihres Verbreitungsgebietes sind nicht bekannt.

Ihre systematische Einordnung als Art oder Unterart ist jedoch bei Wissenschaftlern umstritten.
